PCF Engineering

PCF Industries internal toolroom is driven by its engineering department. All products are designed and suitable tooling and processes for manufacture are designed buy the engineering department. At this stage toolset's, jigs and fixtures or special purpose machines are drawn comprehensively and fed into the toolroom for manufacture. PCF has the technology to machine even the toughest of materials including tungsten carbides. PCF has a level of quality that allows extremely close tolerances to be met, improving on the life of tooling and accuracy of manufactured product.

PCF Industries’ toolroom is not limited to the manufacture of their own tooling, we can also manufacture tools to your specifications. Our wide range of modern toolroom equipment includes CNC wire cutting, surface grinding, cylindrical grinding, conventional lathe and mill work, and welding. Our close business alliances even allow us to manage your Heat treatment and plating requirements for a complete service.

PCF WIRE CUTTING SERVICE

PCF has the equipment backed with the experience needed for even your most complex Electrical Discharge Machining EDM projects. We simplify hard tasks with Wire EDM.

What is the Wire Electrical Discharge Machining Service process?

Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) is a process in which a conductive block (which is also known as tooling) is submerged in an electrolyte solution. An extremely fine wire is fed through an initial hole and a program of the desired shape is fed into the machine the result is a detailed shape in your job that did not require traditional cutting methods. Not only can a detailed hole be cut into the block but the shape can be different from top to bottom, this is known as a 4th axis cutting, so you can have a hole that is round at one end and square at the other end, also the hole doesn't have to be a hole it could be a pin that has an unusual shape. When it comes to wire EDM all conductive materials can be cut, even in a heat treated state.
